Lifestak wins IAB Singapore’s Tech Tuesday competition

The IAB Singapore has kicked off Tech Tuesday, a bi-monthly networking event that connects local startups with influential IAB Members.  The first event of this series was hosted by IAB Mobile Committee Co-Chairs Chris Bell (Head of Business Development at Blippar) and Regina Goh (MD of Blis Media APAC). The startups featured were Magloft, Optinera and Lifestak.

In the JustCo office on Robinson Road, Regina opened up the floor:

“At the IAB Singapore, we often look at the lens of advertising, today, we go beyond advertising. The important thing to look for in a startup is simplicity and it is great to see companies like these drive to simplicity in the tech world.”

Each startup was given 20 minutes to present their idea to an audience of IAB Members, IAB Leadership Council Members and fellow startups.

Tech Tuesday Startup #1: Magloft, Tobias Strebitzer, Co-founder

The e-magazine publishing start-up enables brands to create their own fully branded magazine that can be accessed through any mobile device, browser and desktop. It offers a low-cost solution to help companies re-design their websites and PDFs to mobile.

Tobias Strebitzer, Magloft’s Co-Founder and CTO presented in behalf of the company. The multi-talented Australian native is a full stack hacker, product designer, backend developer, an expert in user interface and is fluent in more than 20 programming languages. According to Tobias, Magloft’s product helps publishers get success on their mobile.

Magloft’s goal is to provide an affordable and easy way for people to get their content on the new innovation device.


Tech Tuesday Startup #2: Optinera, Vijay Chandrasekhar, Co-Founder

Vijay impressed judges with his *breathe-in* mobile-centric analytics and research platform that detects all forms of offline and online advertising media in a passive monitoring manner. The tool is used to study media consumption habits of consumers and helps content owners understand the effectiveness of their ad campaign.

Optinera prides itself of Optix’s capability to collect minute by minute media consumption across all major media spend channels.

LifeStak, Shariff Raffi, CEO [Winner]

LifeStak is an application that helps user track their daily activities and keep them on their toes. It promotes work-life balance by providing a lifestyle dashboard where it is easier to check routines and habits just by logging in on the app. LifeStak ensures that the user stays on track in attaining his/her desired lifestyle.

Through this application, the user’s “daily life” is categorised as work, play, grow, rest and free where hours to spend on each category is specified.

IAB members had a hard time choosing the best presentation but after much deliberation, LifeStak took home the prize of an exclusive mentorship with an IAB Leadership Council member of their choice and networking opportunities.
